The lighthouse at Formentor, Mallorca

The background shows sidewalk tiles - "rajoles" - that pave the sidewalks throughout Barcelona. They were designed by architect Puig i Cadafalch for the entryway of a home. Since 1915, they have been used by the city to pave sidewalks, and have become emblematic of the city. One of the city's most famous chocolatiers, Enric Rovira, produces chocolate bars in the shape and design of these tiles.

Counsel to New Missionaries

Each transfer we invite the outgoing missionaries to share their thoughts and testimonies for the new missionaries just arriving. These comments were filmed on May 2 and 3, edited the evening of the 3rd and shown to the new missionaries when they arrived the next day.

Thanks to Elders Jensen and Bowers for putting this video together in record time!

  3. Hi President--I have recently been called to serve in your mission (I enter the MTC July 7th), and was wondering if I will be receiving any further or any more detailed instructions on what I should bring, etc.

Also, I want you to know that I think this blog is a great idea and have found it to be helpful already.

    Thank you,
    Elder Stanton Shields

  4. Elder Shields, congratulations on your call! You should receive an email from me within the next few days (if you included an email address in your application - otherwise you will receive a letter). We look forward to seeing you in the great city of Barcelona!

  6. Great idea to record and compile the testimonies of these seasoned missionaries to share with their "replacements".

It's great to reflect on my mission, the things I learned, God's many blessings, and the truth of our church. Very moving video.

Thank you for the great work you are doing with these Elders and Hermanas. Certainly my Mission Presidents are among the most influential people in my life. (Serving at Temple Square & Anaheim, I had 3!)

I'm so happy that my sister, H. Diehl has been able to serve her mission with you, and LOVE the blog. I think I'll keep reading it even when she's home.
