Filmed 23 March 2010 in the Spain Barcelona Mission home
The lighthouse at Formentor, Mallorca
The background shows sidewalk tiles - "rajoles" - that pave the sidewalks throughout Barcelona. They were designed by architect Puig i Cadafalch for the entryway of a home. Since 1915, they have been used by the city to pave sidewalks, and have become emblematic of the city. One of the city's most famous chocolatiers, Enric Rovira, produces chocolate bars in the shape and design of these tiles.

Viejos Video
Before saying our final farewell to our departing missionaries, we did a short interview with them, asking them about their mission, advice to other missionaries, and their testimonies. We then showed this video to their "replacements" - the new missionaries who arrived the same day. You might enjoy this video.

Thank you, Pres. Hinckley for sharing that video with us. I was so wonderful to watch and very much a testimony builder.

Wow, Dad. That is amazing. What a great way to enter the mission--to see exactly what your role is, the shoes you are filling, and the wonderful experiences you have ahead! Nice job on the technical side, too! I can't believe you put that all together in one day!
ReplyDeleteThis was done entirely by the Ayudantes!
ReplyDeletePresidente Hinckley,
ReplyDeleteThanks you so much for posting that video. I went to the MTC with those young Elders. What a privilege to see the change in them. They are no longer just Elders they are spiritual giants! Miracles do happen not only to the people of Spain, but the missionaries who have served there. I know miracles do happen to those who turn their life over to the Lord.
I want to thank you with all of my heart for taking the time to not only make this video but to record the happenings of this mission for all to see. Our son reports to the MTC on July 7 and is headed for the Spain, Barcelona mission too! This blog has been a wonderful way for him to prepare spiritually to serve with you. Today he had me watch this video and I was overcome with the strength and power of these simple testimonies. Please know that all of the effort that you are putting in to this blog IS producing miracles even in the young men who are preparing to serve their missions. Know also that you are all in our prayers. Thank you for your dedication to the Lord and to our children.
