The lighthouse at Formentor, Mallorca

The background shows sidewalk tiles - "rajoles" - that pave the sidewalks throughout Barcelona. They were designed by architect Puig i Cadafalch for the entryway of a home. Since 1915, they have been used by the city to pave sidewalks, and have become emblematic of the city. One of the city's most famous chocolatiers, Enric Rovira, produces chocolate bars in the shape and design of these tiles.

Despedida - Nine Angels Return Home

On Wednesday, 6 April 2011, nine wonderful Elders boarded the airplane at BCN headed for home, served faithfully and well to the end!

Elders Ames, Gerber, Jacinto, Johnson, Awerkamp, Flores, Hunsaker, Nasaeth, and Raban - thank you for your life-changing service, for your faith in miracles, for your example, for your friendship, and for the great legacy which you have left in El Faro!

  4. I remember when these missionaries arrived in Barcelona. This group had a significant impact on the spirituality of the mission. They are all so amazing! Even the ones that moved to Malaga like E. Langston!

  8. Nope, I'm not Elder Call, but I am his mom!

Beautiful, heartfelt testimonies. Elders, play this once in a while after you return home. Remember the power of these times of your lives. It is a sweet tithe to Father, precious in His sight, as well as to our marvelous brothers and sisters in Spain, and to you and your families. "Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven." Sacrifice becomes the blessing!

I hope Elder Skylar Call, who came by himself in mid-Jan, 2011, also has a chance to make such a video. Find a worthy group, mix them together, and voila!, just like these nine, you will hear the testimony of angels, ones that strengthen each other and the splendid Barcelona mission. Each is so choice and beloved. 4/25/11
